As the hub for voluntary services in North Hertfordshire and Stevenage, we empower community and faith groups, social enterprises, and more to continue their vital work. The voluntary sector bridges the gap in public or privately available services, and whether groups need advice on funding, volunteer recruitment, governance, or beyond—we’re here to help. And this year we’re hitting the road to make it even easier for groups to access extra support.

Listening to local groups is at the heart of what we do. By understanding their challenges, we can tailor our support and services to better meet their needs. We know that for many groups, time and resources are more restricted than ever, making it difficult to reach out. That’s why we’re bringing our expertise directly to them!
This year, we’re popping up in towns across North Hertfordshire and Stevenage to be more accessible to the people working hard to make our community a better place to live.
Who can attend
Our drop-in sessions are open to anyone involved in groups dedicated to improving residents’ lives, including those focused on mental health, substance abuse, and bereavement support; youth mentoring, elderly befriending, and LGBTQ+ services; community gardening, recycling, and local climate action; adult literacy, job readiness, and skills training; and local church and faith-based initiatives.
Wherever there’s a need, we’re here to help. We can advise on the latest funding opportunities and application processes, steer in the recruitment and retention of volunteers, provide good governance and policy guidance, offer networking opportunities and more.

Whether you’re just starting out or an established group looking to grow, we’re here to help. By attending, groups can gain insights, build networks, and access tailored support—ultimately strengthening their ability to make a real impact in their communities.”
