A space for charity finance professionals to connect, share and problem-solve

Working in finance for a charity or community organisation can sometimes feel like a solo job. You might have questions you’d like to bounce off someone who understands the sector, a challenge you’re trying to work through, or simply an experience you’d like to share with people who get it.

Our new Charity Finance Network is a space for people working in finance across Hertfordshire’s voluntary, community and charity sector to come together, have conversations and learn from each other.

Join us for our first online get-together

Tuesday 20th October | 12 noon | Online

This first session will be informal and friendly, with plenty of space for conversation.

You might come along to:

• Meet other people working in charity and voluntary sector finance

• Share experiences, challenges and ideas

• Talk through a problem and get a different perspective

• Pick up useful tips, approaches or resources from others

• Ask questions in a space where people understand the realities of working in the sector

• Simply connect with others doing a similar job

There’s no presentation to prepare for and no expectation that you need to contribute. Come along, listen, join the conversation or bring something you’d like to discuss.

A safe space for honest conversations

We want this to be a safe, supportive and informal space where people can talk openly about the challenges of their role, share what’s working (and what isn't) and learn from one another.

We’ll facilitate the conversation where needed, but this is a network for you and your peers. The topics and conversations will be shaped by the people who come along.

We’re starting with this first session and seeing where it takes us.

If people find it useful, we’d love for the network to have legs and become a regular opportunity to get together, share knowledge and support one another. There’s no set frequency at this stage — we’ll shape that based on what’s useful for the people involved.
