Well Done In Taking Your First Step!
Right now, across your Hertfordshire, charities, projects and community groups need people like you. People willing to get involved.
There’s a common assumption that volunteering means big commitments, special skills, or lots of free time. It doesn't.
There are lots of ways to volunteer that are flexible, close to home, and simple to get started.
Start small. Start local. Start now.
Whether you’ve got an hour to spare, a skill to share, or just a willingness to help - here's what's happening near you.

Why This Matters
Hertfordshire’s communities thrive because of the work of local charities, community groups, and social enterprises. They provide vital services, create opportunities, and support people when they need it most. Without volunteers, much of this work simply couldn’t happen.
Every moment makes a difference - whether it’s helping a neighbour, supporting a local project, or simply giving a few hours to a cause they care about.
That’s why we’re making volunteering more visible, flexible, and easy to start. By connecting people with local groups and opportunities, we’re helping communities grow stronger, and giving you a chance to make a real impact close to home.
