Breakaway Playscheme Manager (12 months fixed term maternity contract) 

Salary: £24,000 - £29,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: 35 hours per week (Full time)

Location: North Herts CVS Office in Letchworth, with travel across North Herts and Stevenage

Responsible to: Executive Director

 

We are seeking to recruit a Manager (12 months fixed term maternity contract) for Breakaway, our respite holiday playscheme provision for disabled children across North Hertfordshire and Stevenage.  This is a challenging but very rewarding role that would suit applicants working in the charity sector or a field related to the support of children with disabilities, such as teaching, care work, or social work. The successful applicant will have experience of working with children with a wide range of special needs as well as skills in recruiting, supervising and managing staff. You will be organised, have excellent verbal and written skills, experience of managing budgets and be able to balance conflicting priorities. Ideally, you will be trained in Hertfordshire Steps and/or understand therapeutic behaviour management. Training in emergency first aid, paediatric first aid, epilepsy, manual handling, and/ or gastro feeding would also be advantageous but not essential.  In-house training is available for the right candidate.
